Launch of the Te Papa Foundation - UK Foundation Circle

Launch of the Te Papa Foundation - UK Foundation Circle

Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa is the national museum of New Zealand located in the heart of Wellington City. Te Papa preserves and shares New Zealand’s rich history through carefully curated programmes of nature, art, learning and culture.

The Te Papa Foundation works alongside Te Papa, to maintain an in-depth and up to date knowledge of this work and the additional funding often required for it to reach its full potential.

Friday 15th October saw the London launch of the Te Papa Foundation - UK Foundation Circle. This extension of the Te Papa Foundation invites members to become more involved in raising funds that are vital in supporting the work of Te Papa in Wellington.

Guests were treated to fine kiwi wines, elegant canapes and an interview with notable fashion guru, Tim Blanks. Truly special however was a brief look at the life of New Zealand artist, Rita Angus whose works are currently on loan to Te Papa through the generosity of her family.

Among other projects, raising funds in the UK will contribute to Te Papa purchasing a small selection of Rita Angus’ works to ensure future generations will have an opportunity to learn of and appreciate more fully her contribution to the nation’s art history. View more about Rita Angus portraits.
